Mule Deer Doe Off Tasting?

Spot and Stalk Question
Just curious if other guys use this bit while spot and stalk mule deer hunting. It has paid off for me that right before I got on a stalk I will take a picture from my glassing point, just in case I need something to reference later. Is this something you do every time without fail? Or maybe... -

I know this is very basic but just curious. Never been elk hunting but watching this Born and Raised Outdoors Land of the Free videos and after they shoot an elk they cowcall always. I assumed to stop the elk to get another shot in it if possible. But then they’d bugle even after the elk left... -
