At work we run BFG KO2s, Duratracs, and work great out in the mud and crud, and I personally run Hankook Dynapro ATM on my wifes SUV, and Nitto Ridge Grapplers on my Duramax. All these tires are quiet and perform great. The Hankooks are my favorite all around tire, great on the highway but...
You may run the risk of a tom getting "hung up" and not closing the final distance without decoys. But with that being said I don't use one. The turkeys where I hunt hang out in some nasty thick stuff. I sneak up and position on the edge of a meadow or field, and call them out to the edge. Once...
One thing I might add is that the emissions stuff will get better. Think of when catalytic converters first hit the scene and all car enthusiasts were up in a roar. No one cuts there catalytic converts out anymore. The first few years of emissions equipped vehicles will have their issues but as...
Caught a mess of tulibee last week here in MN. For those not familiar with tulibee they are basically a cisco or a whitefish, very oily and very tasty smoked. Well when you have 50+ fish that are now smoked you start playing with ideas on what to do with them. So I took a recipe with a couple...
I have one, got it for Christmas. I have yet to use it hunting, but I use it trapping, it has packed 78 lbs of beaver out of the woods one trip 2.5 miles one way through the snow. It handled the load well but I have never experienced a higher end pack. The hip belt got a little uncomfortable...
I too have been looking at a griff. I have a lab and will always have one around beings I do a lot of waterfowl hunting, but also upland hunt my fair share. I hunt grouse and pheasant with my lab and my brothers GSP. This is very good info from all that have posted, and all that has been said...
Just wondering what everyone looks for in fit and function in a boot for elk hunting, and hiking? Do you want a little room in the toes? A tight fit? How do you know if you'll get blisters from them without putting miles on them? or do you just need to break them in? I am from MN and everything...
I feel that putting in the time would be the biggest factor for someone new. You will learn so much by just putting in time with scouting and hunting. Practice makes perfect. Though this does not guarantee a shot, but the way I see it the more time you spend out there the greater your odds.
I also put in for the Medicine bow area for my first ever elk hunt. I was wondering why you put the * for unit for accessibility? More so curious about what I overlooked.
I am currently looking into a subscription with them mid year or so to start planning for next year. As a guy who is open to going where ever and mainly looking for best odds at the moment while gaining some points in states, Gohunt seems like it would be worth the $150. Like I said, being new I...
I have bought many vehicles with a salvage title, but also had paper work as proof of proper repair. It is a good way to get a good deal, my last purchase was an 08 Silverado duramax with 150k on the clock for $7k (that's a steal beings similar rigs are $26k clean and have been seeing them sell...
