    Random Sheep Hunting Pics

Funny thing. I have a picture of that same little drainage from about 1/4 mile that spot. 2016 I think it was. Some great country there.

    Random Sheep Hunting Pics

This creek was kind of neat. This one... not so much A proper sheep camp. Lightweight is overrated. Sheep heart steaks.

    Ranking Goat/Sheep

Since Bambistew so eloquently espoused the virtues of dall sheep, I'll do the same for Alaska Mt Goat. Dall sheep hunts are amazing, with long miles, long views, and wild country. I'm a fan and will be doing it again this year. Coastal AK mountains goats are a different variety of mountain...

    Sheep cancellation hunts

As someone who (normally) does a lot of bush travel in the summer, Bambistew is right about the second and third legs being an issue for some outfitters. If the bush flight is direct from Fairbanks or Anchorage, you are probably ok, but quite a few village hubs or bases are either shut down...

    2014 Alaska Moose

Funny thing about this. The camp and operation seems to have been sold and re-named to "Dillinger River Outfitters" https://www.dillingerriveroutfitters.com/ Flashy website. Active instagram account. Lots of marketing speak. After that, it starts getting fishy.... The listed owner...

    2018 Sheep hunt

Nice work once again. I hope to apply the "sheep o'clock" lesson sometime next week, but my spot isn't quite as sweet as that one!

    Goat hunt....what do you know?

This has been my experience. Although I have spent plenty of time hunting the Alaskan mountains for sheep and caribou, the goat hunts were certainly different. Both times I had no problem locating animals, and they weren't hard to stalk from an alertness standpoint (we actually shot two...

    Goat hunt....what do you know?

I've had good luck with goat meat, but agree it doesn't fry or grill very well. It's my favorite of all the Alaska game species for roasts though, as the fat in the muscle makes it much more likely to come out of a slow cooker moist and tender. Side by side cooked with deer/moose/caribou...

    Carrier packs (for kids) reviews?

If you look at an Osprey, make sure that both your AND your wife try it on with weight if she might use it also. For some reason the hipbelt has a really sharp edged stiffener it it. Works fine for me, but it doesn't fit the different curves of my wife and will actually break skin on a long...

    2017 sheep

Ahh.... Bambi is skipping some of the best parts. Like how I was sick as a dog the first two days of the season. Or how he tries to kill off his hunting partners in the "boulder field of death" Despite all that, I learned much from him. For instance, did you know you can save...
