    I have a VX2 and 2 VX5s and I love them. I also have a Vortex Viper scope. Can’t say I’d change Leupold for Vortex. Leupold does offer a 45% military discount so that $199 might not be the best deal out there

    VX5-HD or VX-6 (non-HD)?

    I've only had the VX5 out so sight in so far but it's very sweet so far. In looking between it and the VX6, I don't see much of a difference at all. I think it's worth the cost.

    The 22-250 is my long distance trainer/varmit rifle. I was thinking of buying a 6.5-20x44 for that one. I could return the Diamondback (bought at a deal from Cabela's for $150) and mount the Leupold until I save enough to afford the 6.5-20.

    I'll be breaking in my new Tikka .308 soon. My question is should I use the same rounds I plan to hunt with or can I use cheap rounds to beak the barrel in?

    Last year I was elk hunting and carried a .22 rifle on occasion for a rabbit or two. Does anyone else shoot small game when you're out for big game? If so, what do you carry for them?

    That was my concern too. I know that Cabela's will do it for free but I'm concerned about how good of a job they'll actually do. A gun smith takes pride in their work and specializes in that type of work.
