I have a Eureka Timberline 4xt that was served me really, really well over the years and has a high enough ridge line it’ll accommodate me sitting up in my cot W/o rubbing my head on the tent body. Only drawback is that it needs to be staked down TIGHT in high winds as it lacks aerodynamic sides.

I used to carry my hunting pack while out w/ my daughter backpacking. I took it out for a week on the Appalachian Trail with a buddy who had an Osprey of similar size that was MUCH lighter and just as comfortable.

I found a huge piece of public with a river running through it. To access the river upstream of that area, however, I’d have to pass through private lands.
