Lol, whatever, I'm looking forward to hunting Central SD this year. I hear there is a ton of public land that was recently donated to the state by Ducks Unlimited. Not to mention it's legal to road hunt so that will be fun! Let me know when you are going and may have some extra tips with more...
Wow, That would be a crazy view through the scope! Lion duty wouldn't have been very exciting either, especially for a teenager! Good work though and nice shot at 324 yds.
I forgot to mention in my original post that I'll be in unit 79, that's why I mentioned Rio Grande earlier, just realized I made that mistake. And cows for me as well
I know for the Colorado units, Basspro sells a map that includes the GMU boundaries, trails, and are fairly detailed. Not sure if MN units are also available but it would be worth a shot. I think I spent $20 for mine...
I'm new to this forum and normally only hunt elk but I live near the Springs and I'm looking to broaden my hunting horizons. I was looking at leftover doe tags for there areas east of the springs and south of I-70. I know there isn't a lot of public areas to hunt in that area and I would never...
At the BassPro in Colorado Springs, they sell GMU maps that allow you to look at the Topo within the GMU boundaries. These maps also show campgrounds and service roads. It should be a great starting point and if you aren't sure on a unit they have a table nearby that would allow for some quick...
Who all is going out for 4th season in Colorado? I'm going solo for the first time and I'm fairly excited but also a little nervous. The 16th can't get here fast enough. Good Luck to everyone else that is heading out. Also I'm new to this blog and I've already learned a lot, hopefully I can...
Okesa, let us know how it goes when you get back. I'm heading out for 4th Season and I'm hoping for lots of snow in the high country. Going to a unit north of Pagosa Springs, Good luck
HA! The hawks in Colorado must love decoys, I had one attack my spinning mojo but I stood up and yelled right before he sank his talons in it. I had never seen that before but I guess it happens more often then not. Either I was hiding really well or he was really hungry. More likely the latter.
There are also some places around La Junta (East of Pueblo) that I've hunted early teal on. I would imagine it would hold some decent birds later in the season as well. I've also hunted a lake or reservoir up in the North Central area close to Wyoming that was really nice but due to heavy fog we...
You should definitely be proud of your daughters. I can't wait until my kids are old enough to start going with me, I have a feeling my daughter is going to love it as much as yours do! Enjoy the memories while they last and Congrats!
