    Barnes copper bullets?

Im a big fan of the ttsx bullets. I switched from 168 gr to 150 gr ttsx this year in my 308 for the added fps. I shot a bull at 226 yards and had a complete pass through. I'll be sticking with this combo this year. I would have no problem shooting an antelope or deer with this bullet either.

    Pronghorn binos on a BUDGET

Check out Maven binoculars. I recently got the C series and am very impressed with them for the price. I think the glass is better than my Vortex Vipers.

How do cattle herds effect elk population?

The only time I've noticed cattle effecting elk is when they are rounded up. Deer are usually pretty quick to come back to the area but elk seem to take longer if they come back. At least this has been my observation.

    Barnes TTSX BT 168gr

I bought a 308 last year and started load development with the 168 gr TTSX. I got good results so I've stuck with it. I have been contemplating trying the 150 gr TTSX and think I will by a box and work up some loads for next year. The elk I shot last year at 60 yards was a complete pass...

My wife and I were in a similar situation 4 years ago. I was finishing up grad school and we were applying for jobs throughout Colorado, Utah, Wyoming and Montana. I was offered a job in Cheyenne, WY and we accepted and moved out two weeks later. We are both originally from a town of 6,000 in...

    Packing out a elk solo.

Totally agree... I packed my bull out last year in two heavy trips. I was anxious to get him out and get back to my family. I had almost 2 miles uphill in downed beetle kill pine back to the truck. It was slow going and realized on the second trip that I was going to be rethinking my future...

    Hello from Wyoming

I've been listening to Randy's podcast for a couple of months now and that's how I found out about this forum. I figured I better join since I am a diy public land hunter! I grew up in northern Utah and moved to Wyoming a few years ago for work. I didn't draw deer or elk tags so it'll be...
