    Trickle Bear Bait Barrel

I realize this is an old thread, but I use a trickle barrel suspended between trees so that they can just reach it and spin it around without really getting a hold of it, it's worked very well for me over the years. This year I've got a couple of the smaller metal barrels to try out, I'm still...

    InReach question

I've never had an issue and I have multiple devices, make sure your annual subscription is up to date, otherwise I'd get with customer service.

    Garmin Inreach Explorer or 66i

I've been using the Inreach's for many years, it is a device that is on the top of my gear list, way above high tech clothing, packs or boots, I'm an older fella that primarily hunts solo in the backcountry and the Inreach has proven it's worth time and again, I use it for communication with my...

    New or used InReach?

I have two of the older Delorme Inreach SE models, I bought one used about 6 years ago and the other I bought new before that, the only issue I had with the used one is you have to make sure the previous owner deletes their account completely, including on the device, app and website or it'll...

    Garmin inreach HuntView questions

I have an Inreach SE and pair it to my phone for messaging and some maps, I use both OnX and Basemap as mapping systems, I'm really looking at the Garmin 66i because it takes a chip for OnX or whatever. I'm just curious if anyone has experience with the 66i over the regular Inreach.

    Idaho Moose

Has anyone had any experience in 68A for Moose or even deer? Just looking at what kind of hunt/ area it is. I know it has sketchy access and can be hit and miss, but I was wondering if anyone has had feet on the ground in there. Thanks.

    Idaho Elk

I've hunted Sawtooth and Salmon units, wolves are pretty much king in both. But that doesn't mean there isn't good elk hunting. You'll just have to realize that if you come across a ton wolf sign you'll have to move on and find them somewhere else. I hunt the A tags every year so its not quite...

    Cow calls

They work great on cows too, I've called in lots of cows that way, that calf bleat will call a cow right in. And you might get to see a nice bull depending on the time of year. I've always got the cow call around my neck.

Idaho Big Game Season Proposals 2019-2020

The biggest changes I see in store are for the bear seasons, possibly opening some to general tags and of course giving landowners plenty of Landowner preference tags to sell, also many more A elk tags in Sawtooth, and the removal of the 1 mile rule from the Weiser River elk units. As always...

Elk & Muley October Idaho salmon unit 28/36b

I too am looking at 36B but for an archery hunt. I usually hunt Sawtooth but it's such a pain to get a tag that I'm looking at other units nearby. I've played around in the Pioneer units but have spent very little time in the Salmon units. I have friends quite successful around Challis and they...
