    2024 Turkey Season!

Didn't start hunting until 12:30. No responses to the always deadly shaker call in the first draw. Strolled over to the second draw and when I hit the shaker the whole draw lit up with gobbles, purrs, and clicks. A little fine tuning with the slate and bam, this happened:

    ****OFFICIAL****2024 SPRING BEAR THREAD

Not in my book. For the price of SG gloves I'd just say they are now "waterproofed"!

    I give up

I do, and as a result of your post did some more reading on them. I still just don't buy that a dam built in a responsible location with the right features (ie. Fish ladders, etc.) are not a fantastic idea. The power/water/erosion/recreation outweighs all the debatable downfalls in my eyes...

Hey, Wyoming, you brought a woof to a bar? Montana...hold my beer

The crazy hot scale misses the mark here.

    Good for you Botswana

I have both hunted and harvested antelope. The easy ones are too tasty to pass up. Same with elk on a haystack. F&G gives out the number of tags they do to manage the numbers. Whether you harvest or hunt an animal, the goal is to keep the numbers in check. I'm not gonna tell someone I...

    7mm recoil help

For reals? A brake doesn't make a gun louder? It sure seems louder to me. I have to leave the gun range if someone is shooting one next to me and I have bad hearing.

    Good for you Botswana

The proper word to use in these situations is "harvesting". Example, I harvested a shoulder season cow elk off a haystack. That makes everything more better.

    Ditching the Dip

I wish with the law of supply and demand and all of you quitting that the price would at least go down. This cold beer and Skoal straight habit is getting expensive.

    Wolves in Nevada???

Hell yeah, finally a solution to the wild horse problem!

Help! I can't get my lab to stop digging!

Labs cause issues when not exercised. I know it's not easy to do all the time. It's an owner issue, and I am guilty too. Run them and chewing, digging, barking issues disappear.

    Why I love labs

I couldn't resist showing them off some more:

    Why I love labs

Labs are the only dogs for me. I have had one or two my entire life and will never be without one.

    Losing 87 miles of refuge

I don't feel too bad about it. It's not like Freezout or Medicine Lake. For example birds roost the entire Bighorn. They might shy away from the Bighorn during the day, but they sit on every inch of it at night. Opening the Yellowstone would be the same way. It's primarily a late season...

    7mm WSM

Yessir. I'd use it more if the brass was easier to come by so the 270 wsm usually gets the nod.

    7mm WSM

Following....I've got six boxes but to stingy to shoot any without knowing of a brass source.

Beyond a dream, what's your ultimate hunt?

DIY Yukon moose with the exception being meat packers.

    Time to upgrade pickup?

    Once deleted, sweet truck.

Bridger to Fort Smith? You planning on driving gravel and the the backroad from Pryor to St. X? That would be a terrible commute in winter.

    Recommendations for ND/MN/MT Gundog Trainer

Just wondering.... are you wanting training for pointing or flushing? You've got a bit of both in that pup. I'm interested because I'm thinking about getting a lab from a pointing breeding but only wanting it for flushing purposes.
