Any South Dakota pheasant reports?
Hunted the se corner for the resident opener and been out a few times since. Its "decent" is about right. Havnt seen birds in every field, all public, but able to get birds every day.- chadv

Thanks for the break down! I should've been clearer as to what I was looking for and you nailed it. I didn't mention that the debt I have left now is a home equity LOC at about 90k which I throw an ave of 2500 a month at so should be done in about three years. Can I afford it?
I hear you. If I worked two additional years my pension would increase by $800 per month plus the additional years of 401 increases would be huge. I also dont want to be the guy who keeps saying just two more years and I'll be making X more until their to old to hunt, In the end Ill just have to...- chadv

Ive debated posting this question for sometime and finally decided what can it hurt. I'm 54 in Oct and want to retire before season 2028 at age 60. I work at UPS and will have a pension of 49k. Mid 50's retirees question
Can someone smarter than me say if the 4% rule works? Ive heard varying opinions lately. If it somewhat works 59 for me. With pension and 3 or 4% of 401k Ill make as much as working.- chadv

Volunteers Needed to Help NP Trim Elk Population in Wind Caves, SD

What size shot? Multi-species
I use only steel and hunt only wild SD pheasants and honkers over decoys. I use #2 all season and love it. Very few BBs in the meat and way fewer feathers in the meat. May have to wait a second or two on a close flusher but also part of the fun.- chadv

SouthDakota Pheasants
Id stay away from Winner just due to the no public land issue. Ive had a very good year hunting only public land but it averages about 1 bird every 45 minutes to an hour starting at 10 am. I started the year east of Mitchell but have moved to different areas as these birds have been thinned out...- chadv

2018 Year In Review in Pics
Wow, thanks for sharing. Beautiful elk and otter. Two still on the bucket list for me in SD. Shot some cows and got some foxes but no bulls or otters yet. Congrats and may next year be as productive! -
