First Hunt Outside of Texas, First Successful Hunt Ever 6X6 Bull

After several months of wearing down a buddy from work I got a hunting partner, which was very beneficial for hauling meat. I didn't pester him to come with me but he has experience hunting elk and loved it. So, every time I got a new piece of gear I has up in his office showing it off. Then I...

2017 CO Archery Elk Partner Needed

Looks like I am in the right spot. Coming up from Texas to backpack in for a 5 day bow elk hunt. I have been doing commercial roofing for a decade and am 33, so I am in decent shape. Also for the sake of practicing suffering I have been doing hills with 50LB pack (it is 100 degrees here). Very...

    Need more practice!

After thousand of shots with my bow, I became pretty good. I have almost no rifle experience except 80 shots with a savage arms 300 win mag. To be honest I am a bad shot. The ammo is kind of pricey. I was wonder is the a beginner rifle caliber, on the cost efficient side, that can take down tx...

Going whitetail hunting open weekend. Have been scouting area since end of May when flooding stopped (think deer are back to normal). Have some good bucks on trail cams. I have only hunted once before, but I am really good with my bow.
