Thank's for the support Elkmagnent. Anyone that think's the Mule deer population in those three unit's is delusional. The units surrounding the Jarbidge wilderness are beautiful winter range and capable of supporting far more Mule deer than they currently have in my opinion and that's what it is...
Thanks John, I'm almost sorry I shared my story but I thought that's what the site was for. Some people just have a bur under their saddle blanket and feel big when they try to make other's look small.
I sure didn't mean to make you mad. Go check out the success rates on the Game and Fish website for those three units, then compare those numbers to year's of long ago and then tell us how great these units are doing. The numbers don't lie
I made it home { without } an elk but had a good time. I did see a couple smaller bull's but it was a tough hunt. With my 16 NR Elk points gone, that will be my last trip to Nevada hunting Elk but I had a great time. When someone tells you the Elk don't come out of the wilderness they're not...
Well my Elk hunt started today and I'm still in Utah until Saturday. I drew the unit 72-74 Jarbidge late bull tag and cant wait to get there. I plan to hunt all of it I can {except } the wilderness portion. My health will no longer allow it. Having never been there I'll have my work cut out for...
PM sent psycho, Ive had 2 back surgery's and surgery on both shoulder's but I still get around some taking 1/2 to 1 mile hikes in fairly rough country if needed, and I have 2 helpers to help pack one out. I have good glass and love to spot and stalk. I know I wont be hunting a 350 plus bull but...
Utah Bison in the Book Cliff's and Henry Mountain's can be an extremely tough hunt especially on the later hunts. That is beautiful country and a hunt to remember regardless of the outcome. Enjoy every minute of it and good luck, I will be following this one. Thank's for posting
Psycho, Thanks for the reply. 2 back surgeries, but I still get around some. Wilderness area is out of the question. I have 2 helpers. Heading up on the 12th. I know I won't be hunting a 350 bull. I've never been in that country and don't know where to start. I don't even know where to park my...
Psycho, I know this is an old post but If you're still around, can you give me any pointers on unit 74. I have the Nov-6 late bull tag and have to hunt the lower country due to health issues. I'm trying to fight off a bad cold and will be going out on Nov-12
Thank's Elk dog, I just finished my Utah Deer hunt and am now fighting off pneumonia. I plan to head that way on the 12th. That will give me a little time to recover and possibly give the weather an extra week for possible snow. I have a pretty extreme 4X4 to hopefully get me in just a little...
Can you help me with any information about my Nov-6 Jarbidge elk hunt. You seem to be very knowledgeable about the area. I need to hunt outside the wilderness area due to health issues but now nothing about the area. If you can help me with any information I would sure appreciate it a great deal.
