Rent a car with friends and get on the Dan Ryan expressway to Indianapolis. Much safer city and great food entertainment.
No nightlife in Chicago worth your life.
That place is Mayhem
Beginner,
As stated above the Powerbelts did group well and if they are legal in the state you hunt great.
My TC Omega had I believe a 1-28 twist and shot them well, they just overexpanded in the 1st half of the deer.
I have shot many different companies "bore size bullets" which usually group...
Surveyor I think you have helped yourself.
If I would have bought any (one) of the many O/U Brownings that I have shouldered and shot (better than my own pumps).
However I did not and still do not own an O/U.
I still want one and knwo that I want a used Browning of their better years.
After...
FWIW I have shot at least a dozen deer with either my TC Thunderhawk / Hawken / Omega.
Have shot all of them with bullets such as Maxi Ball / Maxi Hunter / Power Belt copper / Hornady XTP 240 grain pistol Hollow Points.
Very few of these bullets exited the hide on the far side of the deer, so...
Just to follow up on my reply to this from 8/11/2018.
I installed my Black Gold (3) pin Ascent Verdict (moveable sight) and have been shooting much more often.
Previous to this year I only had 20 and 30 yard pins.
Now I am set for 20/30/40 yards am grouping within 2" and tomorrow I will apply...
When my girls were about 12 & 13 we tried them on a couple low poundage bows to no real confidence.
So I traded my friend something he considered equal in value for his Tenpoint Titan HLX.
This bow has an accu draw cocking pulley that is very slick and the handle gets stired in the stock.
They...
My friend bought each of us himself and I each the:
Eberlestock X-1 (which I consider the ultimate daypack but not meat hauler)
And
Alps Commander frame hauler with the load shelf (great meat hauler)
After seeing what the Metcalf will carry when expanded as well as how small it can...
Kind of to Elkmagnets' point there is an enormous amount of drop.
Not sure that any rear peep will provide enough MOA since you will be looking at air and not hair.
As far as bullet selection I have heard many guys swear by these bullets.
I have 3 TC Hawkens all of which have 1-48" twist which...
I bought the AGC Creations Cub last year and went on an elk hunt.
My host really liked my bino case.
We rode on a SXS vehicle and his bino harness ( just the stretchy straps) allowed the Red Dust of the kaibab to cover the glass on both neds of his binocs.
I took mine out of the case and let...
Bought a butter dish size can of the Kenettrek wax and we treated both pairs of our Mountain Extereme boots.
Most likely I have done both pairs (2) full applications before we traveled last year and have at least half a jar.
This rubs on like butter.............with both pairs being brand new I...
I do..........which included a RED tag because I am allergic to Aspirin / Penicillin.
I guess uncle sam knew that I could need some after a full WestPac with an extended spell in Subic Bay and Phuket
Glad to see the 06' was on a lot of folks mind and got a little love.
Until I got my S&W AR-15 in 5.56 ...........my A-Bolt Stalker in 06' was my only high power rifle.
Randy was there a reason why Howa didn't see a market for the 06' in the project you mentioned?
I guess it is very close to...
HighWildFree,
I can see how this has happened after my seeing the cultural evolution from hunting being a primarily family and locally cultural tradition in each respective area, to a socially recorded and shared competetion.
Yes I understand that you may feel that you are suffering from...
Ishoot.......... I read this and prayed for your children and for your wife and yourself right now 0530 AM EST
Your children will feel your love and that will keep them going.
God will keep you and Mom going.
Hope I am not violating any forum rules here.
Currently on Gunbroker there is a Howa 243 with (2) stocks ( Youth size and adult size)
You can enter HWR66204 in the search bar.
This package was discontinued a couple years ago when I asked the Howa rep here on Hunt Talk. ( I think his name...
My uncle had one when I was about 4 y.o. in 1972.
I sat on the rack and burnt my right leg on the exhaust pipe.
That bike would go through fields and the woods like the quads of today.
I think it was street legal.
