Spotting Scope Thoughts
I I was not impressed with my small Leupold except for the compact footprint. It fogged & I had to send it back for repair ( twice for the original problem to get fixed) but it didn’t do as well as my 10x42 Swarovski SLC’s for spotting game or nearly as well as a large Vortex Razor for targets... -

Changing rifles because of excess recoil.
I hunt with traditional weight rifles 9-10 lbs with scope, sling loaded. They point & shoot wery well for me. I’m guessing most hunters who grew up hunting started & some stayed with that weight rifle. I could certainly lose a pound or so before their shooting characteristics suffered. Below... -

Have you looked through the new Trinovids Have you looked through the new Trinovids yet if you prefer Leica glass? I looked though a friends last week and they seemed nicer than the Vortex certainly can’t remember how they compare with conquests but I tend to like Zeiss glass. -

I like 4x or lower on the bottom end for hunting closer in heavy cover. My elk rifle, a 300 Weatherby, wears a 3-15 Zeiss with a Z800 reticle that matches the trajectory all the way out to 800. I’ve killed elk from 11 to 550 yards with an average where we hunt in NW Colorado of just over 300... -

Bigger advantage in a VX-3i Leupold riflescope?
