Went out on Friday as well, saw about a quarter of the deer I usually see. Also ran into some guys who thought they got hit really hard this year during the rifle hunt. From what I saw in the 4 days I hunted this week I’d belive it, it was pretty sad compared to years previous.- muley chaser

if you get away from the roads, 39 is an amazing unit. Be there early and glass and leave late, you will be successful.- muley chaser

well thanks guys for some positive ideas, its not my home unit but its close and i really love putting a stupid number of miles on my boots. sounds like if i stay away from roads and hunt hard it has potential. Has anyone hunted 39 off of the road between horshoe bend and banks? I'm wondering if there are roads in there because i've yet to find a area that is remote enough to get away from all the idiots that seem to come out of the woodwork and drive around madly on atv's.
