Hi all, A buddy and I (from Denver) have been hunting hogs on a ranch outside Abilene, Texas, for the past couple of years to break up the long stretch between elk hunting seasons. Hunt elk every year - a primer
"In Colorado, try not to accumulate many elk points. The marginal benefit to each point is very small once you get above five points. Burn those points and go hunt." That's the truth. I'm at 7 points now, will wait until I have 8, and have a plan to hunt 2016. Should be able to get into a 350... -

Nothing like being able to back the truck up to a hill and rest the tail gate on it to skid one down and right in. It's been a few years since I've had an elk like that. Good work and way to get in the woods with your wife. -
