They are scarce, and I'm really wanting a pair as I love the GR HD's. I gave the 10x42's I had to my nephew for graduation and have missed them dearly. Hoping one of you guys knows where I can get a pair of the 8x42 HD's Thanks for the help.

We just got back from SA this past May. All of our plains game, including zebra, oryx, wildebeest, kudu, etc were killed stone cold dead with a 180gr partition from a 30-06. None ran more than 30 yards when hit 1/3 up on shoulder. It was my first time, and I'll be back. Nothing like it I've...
I bought one last fall right before hunting season. It's been lots of fun to play with. I took this pic at about 800 yards on 20x. I found the key to getting sharp pics, at least for me, is to keep the spotter focused on the lowest power (20x for me) when taking the shots.

I've been using a 2-12 VX6 on one of my 7mags since this past sumer. I also have a VX3 3.5-10x40 CDS and a VX3 4.5-14x50 LR w SF CDS. I can't say enough good things about the VX6. I love the VX3's, but the glass is better in the VX6 and is better than the Conquest I have. Everything that is...
Dang.......the euro stuff is great no doubt, but have you guys ever looked through a Kowa Prominar 883/884, 774, or 663/664? The 883/884 is the best on the planet.
Great piece of glass. Congrats, and it is also the king of eye relief and toughness. You did good! Make sure you post some pics of the game and country.
I'm kind of surprised many here state they can't get the velocities the manuals claim. I find the reloading manuals today have done a great job of watering down a fantastic cartridge in the 7mm Rem Mag. I haven't had any trouble safely exceeding published velocities. For instance, in my...
The HS (not the HS LR models) have one major shortcoming IMO. They have 1"internals in a 30mm tube, i.e. very limited adjustment range of 12 MOA per turn, 50 total for a 30mm tube is weak. A 1" tube VX3 or Conquest have more than that.
First of all, a big thanks to Schmalts here for getting me a 2-12 VX6 w/duplex reticle promptly after ordering. He also made me a killer deal @ $799 delivered...by far the best I've seen anywhere. I'll be ordering more Leupolds from him.
Just a few short thoughts. I just got it mounted last...
Nothing gets my blood pumping like big mule deer. I caught the fever 40 years ago when my dad took me mule deer hunting for the first time. I've never lost it, Thank God!
Bottom right is a 35 1/4" 213" gross typical from Sonora, MX in Dec 2006. Bottom left is 34", 190" gross from TX sandhills country in 2008, as is the top buck which is 30", and 190" gross in 2009. Thanks for the kind words.
ARO, I don't think the differences in what you're doing will amount to much. You can always go to a ballistic program like jbmballistics and run the numbers through their trajectory calculator. It's very good. I'
2 years. I've had several high end RF's including the Leica crf 1200 and the Swaro unit. The crf was hit and miss, and performed poorly in challenging light, fog, haze, etc. The Swaro ranged fine, but it was hard to get an accurate reading with the huge aiming circle. I bought the RX1000i to...
