New Mexico Unit13 deer

Talk about a tough hunt this year. 3 weeks of off and on hunting and not a deer. Hunted out by the El Malpais monument. We found some awesome deer sheds throughout the month, but hardly any fresh sign even near water sources. Hopefully Jan. will bring some better luck.

Merriams in NM 2011

I'm not local, but I hunt turkeys there in the spring also. Really good south of Cloudcroft. The highway headed south out of town is surrounded by private property, but you'll see the forrest roads that cut through into the national forrest. There are plenty of turkeys to go around. Should be a...

enorm is completely right on this. The on range is only 3 days but it should be fairly easy to locate a decent trophy. the off-range is a whole month long but like stated before they are pretty tough to find these days. If your hunting off range, cover alot of miles with your binos and a...
