I’m sorry to hear this @Mooretitan . She’s with her Savior now. And for what it’s worth, I think Olivia has a great father. Praying for you and your family.

Thoughts of chasing this one have had me up at night, as well, @SCliving Outdoors
I currently lack bison/muskox, moose, mtn lion.
I tend to be strangely goal-oriented about things that don’t need goals attached. Hunting hasn’t escaped my neurotic tendency. For a while, I’ve had this desire to take an elk, a deer, and an antelope in each of the eight Interior Mountain West states (MT, WY, CO, NM, AZ, UT, ID, NV). I’m not...
In my opinion, this strategy has not worked well for a long time. I do agree that the Montana experience is certainly like no other. Where else can you pound rutting forkies? But the idea that it is sustainable in the 21st century and synonymous with sound management is dubious at best. In all...
It’s important to remember that the group is striving for something that actually has a chance of being accepted and implemented. That’s what makes this a tricky compromise. It’s not simply a theoretical exercise. LE might be the best thing for the state’s mule deer. Probably is. But with...
Mountain goat hunt in Alaska. Probably won’t be this year, but who cares? It’ll stretch your budget but if it’s a year or two out, I bet your cool wife will be cool with it. If you really have a $10K budget and end up going to TX, I’m gonna reach through the internet and strangle you, bruh. Oh…...
The brain trust behind this proposal doesn’t need me to speak for them, but, based on the nature of some of the criticism, I feel the need to remind everyone that this proposal isn’t being billed as a rigid, foolproof method for curing all that ails MT mule deer. Re-reading Gerald’s initial post...
You’ll have to explain this to help me understand. Yes, 100% of your time will be devoted to your chosen region, but 0% of your time will be spent in the 2-3 other regions that you said you typically also hunt. Doesn’t that reduce pressure in those areas? I don’t get what you mean. Unless you’re...
Love it. And I appreciate the effort of those of you spearheading the effort. Thoughtful. Measured. Seems like a great first step forward. I certainly hope it gains transaction. Well done!
Congrats on all the options. I’m another one who would encourage you not to over-think the pronghorn rifle too much, unless you just want to buy another one. My dad uses his 340 Weatherby for antelope. It kills ‘em. 😅
Yeah, congrats on both the sheep and the child. I’d forget all about the sheep for the month of October at least. Find some family to help out the new mom when you slip away in Nov and Dec. You won’t need October to find a good ram. Enjoy it. What a fall!
