I had not, but from my experience you should get a half size smaller than your normal boot size. I wear Danners everyday for work and also have a pair of their Pronghorn in 10.5.

Both of my boys started with a .308. They practiced with reduced recoil loads and when they were hunting they used regular ammo. Once they were shooting at an animal, they never felt the recoil.

I have had one in 30/06 for years. It doesn't see a lot of time in the woods anymore, but it has been a great gun for me. I have never had a jam in mine and it is a fairly accurate rifle. I have no complaints other than it's a little on the heavy side.
