It seems you don't accept the gravity of the mule deer situation across Montana. Presently Colorado is much different from Montana with regard to mule deer. The reality is that it will take drastic changes to improve Montana's issues. Then there will be the opportunity to go back to hunting...
Zero-dark-thirty AM I started hiking and hunting up the trail for over five miles, then hunted and hiked back, arriving back at my camper in the dark.
Meanwhile, father and two young teenage brothers camped next to me had leisurely breakfast, started up trail, and shot a bull elk within half...
It seems MOGA is well represented and onboard with this proposal.
My perspective is that if Montana hunters are proponents, then UPOM will be opposed.
It's unfair and unreasonable to lump MOGA and UPOM together.
"Last week we released drafts of this proposal to various conservation organizations and to FWP for their consideration to begin gathering support for the proposed changes or for input on how to improve our proposals." Gerald Martin

I get it. But such proposals require positive reinforcement for support. Negativity is just not helpful. Read your explanation above ... it expresses support but is more strongly flavored with negativity.
At this juncture, I think questions for clarification of the proposal(s) are appropriate. But hipshots of criticism are not! Hopefully this thread won't degenerate into the rabbit hole of hundreds of criticisms and varied contradictory opinions by others not part of this group and just...
Montana’s Hunting Seasons: Changes to Preserve Opportunity and Improve Overall Herd Health proposal written by the group of hunters, outfitters, and landowners to address the Montana mule deer issues, but also to provide an improved hunting structure for elk, provides important changes to...
After over thirty years US Army, couple of tours to Vietnam, twice to college, many rodeos ... the f-bomb as an adjective or adverb is trite and uncreative, even abrasive ... 'tired of hearing it overused and overused, and overused. You have no idea how many thousands and thousands of times...
HT Toyota pickup owner Chris recently purchased one in Oregon. It is high quality.
GO FAST Campers in Belgrade, MT, also offer a nice pop-up and they are seen all over the place on Toyotas.
Check out the thread by Little Big Man MT Chris entitled
Mobile hunting camp.
Until Montana elects legislators who can read, write right, learn, and legislate ... the state is in a dark quagmire, with no footing forward.
Again ... that's why I'd rather see them convene for two days every ninety years, instead of ninety horrible days every two years!
Back to question at hand ... hopefully the latest discussions worldwide will allow calmer heads of nations to prevent the escalation by reining in both sides of the latest attacks.
So my answer is NO, based on that hope.
