Do you carry a pistol for bear when elk hunting???
From everything I've read, all is entirely dependent on how close in proximity an encounter happens. You may not have time to resort with either sidearm or spray. In griz country, best steer clear of heavy cover if at all possible.- UP IN SMOKE

Capping off Veteran's Day

Anyone shoot a single shot out there?
Been hunting almost 45 years and the last 18 years has been with blackpowder (Thompson Center .54 Hawken and Shiloh Sharps 45-70).
