Has anyone ever had luck negotiating with docs? I’ve only done it several, but they usually knock off 20% immediately without any kind of fight, which is pretty telling. Yep, been up there a couple of times, not recently though. Defiantly worth the hike. The canyon is beautiful but very very dry from what I remember, make sure to pack plenty of water.- tphelps45

I hunt local quite a bit for elk. It can be tough at times to say the least, meaning a lot of the public ground I have success on is heavily timbered or elk can escape to private ground. 2018 Montana Advice
I have thought about the same thing. I don't know how I would feel about splitting the hunts. I have always thought they should stagger the cow and spike hunts from the guys with the bull tag. I have run into out of state hunters, on general tags, looking for spikes or cows in archery. -

Glad to hear you're making it back to the motherland. My wife and I live in East Helena. Make sure you get your residency going ASAP when you get here. I believe you need 6 months with a Montana drivers license to be eligible for resident tags, that might be different for servicemen but I am not... -

I think you are shooting for the moon. Drawing all three tags would be an achievement in itself. Accounting for travel time, you would only have about 1.5-2 hunting days/species assuming your tags valid for areas in close proximity to one another.
