Bear smell doesn't bother them at all. They've packed out quite a few bears, even though it has been a handful of years. I was careful loading them however, making sure that they were going to be okay.

It bluffed off right here, so I tied the mules up and we hand carried the quarters up.

Had a great hunt in the Snake River unit in Oregon.
We killed one bear off in a pretty good hole. Still wasn't as springy and green as I was hoping for. Did manage to see a cougar, a couple of coyotes and a pile of deer and elk.

I would suggest a steel,2 blade, single bevel, cut on contact head.
2 blades for less friction, steel so you can hand sharpen them, single bevel to continue the arrow rotation through the wound channel, and cut on contact to improve penetration.
