Bears on the bait
Well it took 12 days but happy 10th plus 12 days birthday to my son. 20 plus hours in the stand finally paid off yesterday. Proud dad and happy kid. Was a fairly small bear but the fact it was a boar let me tell him it was okay to shoot it. I know I was far from 10 when I got to shoot my first one.- nbell

Bears on the bait
Dog food seems to work well. Only problem is it Is pretty expensive. I usually cut the dog food in half with sweet cob from the feed store. The Bears don't like it as much, but eat it trying to get to the dog food. I like molasses for the smell, but I have a really cheap source to get it...- nbell

Both of my bait sites have been hit this year, but until now , May 3rd has been my earliest hit. My first year on bait sites have taken as long as 4 weeks.
