    Down for the count?

That was my issue and exactly the tear I had and the plasma injections was one of the options. I opted for rerouting the peroneus longus to take over for the torn brevis.

    Down for the count?

Sprained it last of February and it just never got better. Went to Direct Orthopedic and they said tendinitis and put me in a boot to no avail. MRI revealed detached ligament and vertical tear in one of the peroneal tendons.

    Down for the count?

The doc says I may be down for the count this year. I had ligament /tendon repair on my right ankle last week. It looks like my brother idnative did the stitches on it. No weight bearing for two more weeks. Physical therapy will start around October 1st.

    2017 Idaho Moose

I got it in the late '60s before I went in the Air Force. Just skull capped it like we always did back then. Didn't realize Dad had been carrying it around all those years until he passed away in 2010 and we found it and a nice rack of idnative1948's he got back in the day. They were all...

    2017 Idaho Moose

Finally got my Moose skull back from Predator to Prey Skull cleaning in Payette. And on a side note, 4 hours before I went to pick it up I welcomed my first Great granddaughter into the world.

    Question answered

The answer to the question I posed about black legged Moose has been answered. I picked up my Moose from the butcher this week and cooked a package of regular old steaks last night. Hands down it was the best and tenderest wild game I’ve ever ate. Did not have to tenderize or marinate it...

    Moose question for the ‘experts’

I’ll let you know how mine turns out after I get it back from the butcher. My bull’s testicles hadn’t even quite ‘dropped’ yet. I found that kind of strange.

    Moose question for the ‘experts’

So after I shot my Shiras Moose idnative1948 and I were talking to a cousin that had gotten her moose a couple of years ago in the same area. She mentioned that her bull was ‘buckskin legged’; mine had black legs. She said that the moose with buckskin legs were tenderer than ones with black...

    Savage Model 99

I got my .300 from my dad who received it when he was 16 from his father. Dad scoped it long before I was born with a 4 power weaver. I finally put a new 3x9 scope on it about 8 years ago.

    Savage Model 99

Just drew on an Idaho Moose. Surely my model 99 .300 Savage using 180 grain bullets is heavy enough isn't it. I don't figure I'll be shooting over 100 yards. I really don't want to use idnative's 300 Mag.

    GPS selection

Like I said, it's my first GPS and I think it's great. I like the arrow buttons better than a touchscreen gps or the 'toggle switch' like the Etrex. Downloading or uploading between it and my laptop is great. My laptop will be going with us next Monday also.

trouble with the old elk gun

I've been shooting the same Savage Model 99 .300 since I was 12 years old (I'm now 64). It's dead on at 100, 200 or 300. However I'm using a bullet drop compensator scope that I just crank up the yardage on.

    GPS selection

UPS just delivered my Garmin 64S along with the ONXmap for Idaho. Trouble is I'm still at work and it is at home. Probably won't get much accomplished at work tomorrow. Can't wait to check out the BirdsEye subscription that came with it. I haven't hunted in the area we're hunting in this year...
