This is unit 27 from my hunt there in 2019. For scale, notice the 2 guys in the lower right-hand corner. We were unsuccessful in that hunt but enjoyed our time there so much that I'm going to unit 20A in September 2022.

It's not all continuous but its not 100 acre tracts either. The WMA near my home is 30k acres. The NF in North Ga is several hundred thousand. The WMAs in South Ga are 50k and 60k but I don't hunt those because I have no interest in fighting gators for my deer.
Well my intention wasn't really to start a contest over whether eastern or western hunting was better. They're obviously very different and both have their merits.
In my home state of Georgia a non-resident on a $300 license has 2 millions acres of public land to hunt. On that license they can kill 2 bucks, 10 does, and 2 black bears. Bow season starts in Mid September and runs to Mid October when gun season starts and runs to the 2nd weekend in January.
