Yea I see what you are saying as well as I have helped pack a few out a couple of miles before. Those quarters do get heavy. I think that is where the right hunting partner comes into play. You take turns if some one kills one we all celebrate do the work and share in the joy of a successful...
I would like to see what else is out there, and maybe experience something new. I hunt the any bull units here in Utah every year, and they seam to be getting more and more crowded by the minute. Some day I will draw my super tag. I like trying something new from time to time. I would like...
Utah is mostly managed for Quality, the any bull and Spike only units are here to make them money and try and keep us the masses quiet since we still get to hunt. And in all honesty there is a lot of land that is here to use and holds elk weather permitting. As a out of state guy I would look...
As I am starting to get up their in the age category, I have decided that I want to do an archery elk hunt in one of the three following states ID, CO or WY. I am leaning on doing this backpack style and hoping I can convince one of my hunting buddies to come along. I have just gotten back...
I am a UT resident and hunt the North slope every year. Expect a lot of people, there are both elk and deer hunts going on at the same time. Most of the spike only areas are to help the management of the Trophy areas, these areas hold a lot more elk, just you will be seeing lots of mature...
I will be this year. I usually hunt it on the general season rifle hunt. Have you got a specific question? The one thing I can tell you is it gets a lot of pressure no matter what hunt you are on form both deer and elk hunters, not to mention the recreational ATV/UTV traffic. That being said...
A friend of mine has one, when I shot it, it was on a precision AR and I felt the scope was very good. Clear great tracking and a solid reticle (Mil QAD DMR). It is a bit heavy if you are looking at a light rifle, but this can also be personal preference. Solid scope for budget FFP scope.
Thanks all. I had a inexpensive food save about 15 years ago and hated it. It was hard to use and did not seal well. I will look into the suggestions.
Thanks
What vacuum packing machines do you all use? I had an inexpensive one once upon a time I hated it. I am re-visiting this again, so please tell me what you all use. This will be for mostly fish and fowl, as I like to double wrap my red meat with plastic wrap then butcher paper.
Thanks
Matt
Hey all,
I love my BD headlamp however the red light setting is lacking and there is no green light setting. I am looking for a new lamp with a good red and green setting.
What do you all use and like. I have never used green but I have used red.
Thanks
Matt
My grandfather bought both my little brother and I a Winchester model 94 when we were born and that was our 16th birthday present (legal age to hunt deer at the time) I still have it and still like to take it out every now and then.
I have always wanted an 06 and a 308. Even though I hand load I found it interesting that Nosler loads their commercial 165 hunting loads to the exact same velocity in both the 06 and 308. So I will probably pass on an 06 and just get a 308 or if I am feeling like I want to make it expensive a...
Thanks for the info. I will look at the units a few more times and get my apps in. If I draw I will try to get out and remove a few of the Pdogs out there as well.
