    FILM act

To be clear - my proposal is we restrict/regulate anyone seeking to generate revenue (don't care whether they profit or not). Non-commercial content (i.e., family videos...even if posted to youtube) - fine to apply in the 'non-commercial' draw.

    FILM act

I think what would be FAR better than federal land management agencies regulating commercial filming permits...states regulating tags/permits for any commercial use, including film/media production. You want to film your hunt and use it in any way to generate revenue - that's fine...we offer...

    AZ auction tags going away

100% Agree. And with the demand for NR Big Game hunting in the West - I don't think there is any legitimacy to the arguments any auction tags bring in 'much needed funding' for wildlife. Western states could do any number of things and replace (or make more) revenue than is brought in with these...

Influencers that get involved in the political process for wildlife and hunting

I was luke-warm on meateater content, appreciated their approach relative to most other outdoor media, but wasn't super into any of their stuff...until they became the only name willing to help in the fight on corner crossing. I have enormous respect for them doing that - and lost a lot of...

    2024 AZ credit card hit

If you apply as a group...does the charge show up on individual cards or would it only show on the group leader card/person who applied?

    Idaho NR Draw Bill HB587

With the language, I wonder if this would require NR's to choose between a 'current' OTC/general tag or a controlled hunt? Right now, they buy the general and can apply for controlled hunts. Maybe its a separate draw, but I could see it being a whole lot easier/cheaper to just do one draw??

    Arizona 10% cap on Nonresidents

Residency does not require living in WY year-round...May-November, no real enforcement, and remote/virtual work...I think WY might still be sparsely populated, but you may have a whole lot of new residents in the near future.

    Fixing Western Hunting

Agreed. In addition to the remote work and other flexibilities that significantly reduce barriers to moving historically, also keep in mind getting residency typically only requires ~6 months in state per year. MT, WY, etc. get a lot easier to be a resident if you are only there May-Nov. I...

    Fixing Western Hunting

I think 'fixing Western hunting' is way too broad and undefined. I also think, as someone who fully acknowledges how good things 'used to be', there is way too much doom and gloom on social media re: Western Hunting. Not saying there aren't lots of things to do better on/at, or that anything...

Be honest about your Wyoming elk app!

I thought it was pretty well communicated what was at stake and there was a fair amount of pushback from NRs? None of it as impactful as Rs testifying in person, but several Rs shared key points that NRs pushed hard was my recollection. I know I personally had a couple weeks of email back and...

Be honest about your Wyoming elk app!

1pt, regular, hoping for better odds at a higher demand random tag. I normally do special. The $2k wasn't a deterrent - I just assumed most folks thinking special will be way better odds will actually decrease special odds v regular...in high demand units.

    Sheep show anyone

First time to this show - was fun - lots of great folks. Real pro-tip for those on the fence about attending...bring your spouse. One night of my wife seeing millions exchange hands for coveted tags/hunts and I've successfully reset her baseline on what 'expensive' hunting means! The only...

Iowa SF255 NR tags going to outfitters.

This is exactly the message being pushed by commissioners in WA state...the beneficiary includes 95% of residents who dont hunt...so let's stop worrying so much about harvest and focus on the non consumptive users. It's a valid point, anti hunters and non hunters are indeed beneficiaries. I...

Made it down today...even had a Mr. Newberg sighting tonight.

Anti hunting group buys hunting rights

Sort of tangential - but if there is a list of hunting/outdoor/media companies that have provided support for the corner crossing case - and a list of those who have not - it would be appreciated. I bought some MeatEater apparel when I saw them support the corner crossing go fund me page. I...
