Montana General Elk vs Colorado OTC Rifle

Hunted both states last year. Colorado was just crazy with the amount of people out there for a 1 week season. Camp after camp and everyone hunting the same area. At least with Montana you have a lot more options and longer season.

Anyone Else Apply in Wyoming Yet ?

I applied for Cow Elk and Antelope. Went this past year with a coworker who has access to Private. Ton of Rubs and Sign from the Bulls. Got a Cow. While we were Cow hunting saw Antelope everyday, so it should be fun if I draw again.

What dog food do HTers feed their dogs?

I give mine Nature's Domain, get it at Costco. Salmon with Sweet Potatoes Blend. Started them with Science Diet since we would give our Attack/Explosive Dogs in the Mil it. My male has a sensitive stomach so we made the switch and ever since we had no issues. They get plenty of scraps of elk...

    Guide DCS vs. Jetstream

I used the guide jacket and pants this past season in CO 3rd Season, MT, and WY. I used the pants without a base layer. Just vented the jacket and pants when i would get hot and zipped up when i was glassing. They were great in the windy cold weather in MT. The jacket and pants are very durable.

TOTALLY NEW GUY in Paso Robles, CA

Lots of good pig hunting down there. You have to pay to hunt them on private but it's fun. You can drive over to D9 to Hunt deer on public instead of playing the private game which is the norm down there. I do 99% of my hunting out of CA but Pigs is a good start. If you can become friends with a...

    Randy Newberg EBS

I used it to quarter up two bulls and a cow this year. It needs to be sharped now but no issues. Good knife to have in the kill kit.

    Outfitter herding Elk?

I was in the area 3rd season. I had already killed a nice 5 x 5 on the 3rd day when the snow storm came. We went north of Craig in unit 4 since we had another tag to fill. I've never seen so many camps on top of each other. All trying to hunt the same piece of Public land. We stopped to talk to...
