Feeling discouraged.
I have not seen an Elk or fresh sign at all with my once in a lifetime ND tag so far. Do Elk avoid grazing cattle?
Thanks for all the responses folks. Looks like if the area is promising and I see some Cattle, I should not move out too quickly. If I had a regular cow tag (bovine), we would have a freezer full of meat...they are all over the roads on the National Grasslands. -

E3 cow elk tag
Breanna, I also have E3 ND cow elk tag. I was out this weekend and saw plenty of cattle, pronghorns and Mule deer. No elk unfortunately. I am sure you know that after the first weekend we can also hunt in E4. I heard of some elk near Elkhorn ranch (west side of the river) and saw some hunters... -

I have a Cow elk tag in ND (which is once in a liftetime). I have heard that if there is a herd of cattle grazing in an area, the elk will avoid it. Since I have limited times I can get out and hunt, I was thinking, if I see cattle...keep moving on to the next spot. Anyone have real world... -

Powder for reduced 7mm-08 loads
I have had really good luck with the H4895 in reduced loads for my children. Like Gunner46 said...don't substitue the IMR4895 for H4895. With H4895, you can go as low as 60% of the max load data. Good luck!- deltaecho

Wanting to move west
Thought I would throw in North Dakota to the mix. Diesel mechanics are in high demand (Jobsnd.com search for "diesel" resulted in 237 jobs). Wildlife jobs are tight...but I hear that there are jobs in Grasslands/etc. Eastern ND is flat primarily ag land...while the west has some beautiful...- deltaecho

New GPS......Now What?
I would check the Game and Fish sites for the state/s you plan to hunt. In N.D. the open hunting areas are a free download for Garmin units. Plus, as others have said...practice with it. -
