2010 Pheasant season in South Dakota looking good
The brood surveys for this year posted some great numbers. I heard that it is the fourth highest count on record, up from last year. Anyone coming to South Dakota for a pheasant hunt should be in for a good time! :D- dakotasnow44

As far as I can tell it hasn't really mellowed out. Either the landowners are running an outfit and charge an arm & a leg, or they just plain don't let hunters on unless you know someone. South Dakota Hunt
just curious to find out if you got your antelope tag. I hunt muleys up in Harding county but for antelope I hunt in Butte county. If you did indeed get a tag, one of the better recommendations I can make is to use a GPS (if you have one) because some of the better areas to hunt aren't clearly...- dakotasnow44

mule deer/white tails in south dakota
There is a lot of great deer hunting in South Dakota--it's highly underrated in my opinion (but then again, I'm probably biased). I hunt public land and there is a lot of it available. You can see for yourself if you want to look at an atlas here...- dakotasnow44

I live in the northern Black Hills and hunt in Butte & Harding counties. I know the numbers are down the last 2 years, but there are still a lot of animals out there.
