Skip Silencer Central if you have the option

I've had two silencers ATF-approved since April 23rd. Nothing in hand yet... Took them over a month from ordering and paying before they submitted my info (which they already had). These will be my last Silencer Central purchase. Going Silencer Shop for the next ones.

    Centerfire rifles - your path

I'm getting the 219 bore 18" from Ace as well. Nathan told me a couple weeks again Monday. I'm going 22 Creedmoor though. I did order a pre-fit from Carbon Six for a 17" 223AI. But now I'm debating not touching my T3X compact 223 that shoots so awesome and just getting another 223 to play with...

    New Christensen Evoke

I agree with that - most Fudds out there buying lightweight 300WM's CAN'T shoot MOA. However, the other side of the coin is that buying a gun is uniquely risky; the buyer is unable to fire the gun prior to purchasing, and once the sale goes through refunds are largely impossible, putting you at...

    New Christensen Evoke

All day long if you do your part, amirite? This goes for Fierce, Bergara, CA and all other garbage manufacturers out there: Nobody said they NEVER put out shooters (every manufacturer has lemons), but it's the rate of lemons (CA/Fierce) and how they stand behind their product (Bergara/Fierce)...

    New Christensen Evoke

My gunsmith said CA is the #1 manufacturer he gets in for lemons that don't shoot.

I think CA is the antithesis of Tikka. Tikkas are a bit boring, but just plain shoot and work. CA are all sorts of flashy styles and features, but their QC is abysmal.

    Buying binos sucks

I don't want to oversell glassing while driving. If it's smooth and/or you're going slow you can definitely glass effectively. But in reality you're hitting rocks and bumps and it's not great. 80mph on smooth interstate? Worked for my 12 year old son. Slow on a fire road? Just ok

    Buying binos sucks

To be clear, the low light performance drop off only costs you about 2 minutes at each end of daylight, maybe less. I paid less than $900 shipped from cameralandny as they were on sale. The stabilization is very good. Good enough to glass while driving on a decent dirt road, but not as...

    Buying binos sucks

Depends on your style of hunt. If you're sitting in one location for more than an hour, alpha glass on a tripod is better. However, many people like me rarely sit still that long. I'm driving around in my SXS or hiking through wooded ridges. With the Zulus you get 90% of the benefit as alphas...

    Tikka Roughtech

I just bought through my local dealer's website, which is actually some regional dealer network. I have seen them on gunzonedeals too. Sketchy website but it checks out - got my 243 stainless there.

    Buying binos sucks

I bought maven 15's and love them. My hunting partner runs swaro ELs and BTX. They all stay put away unless I'm glassing one spot for over an hour now that I've bought Sig Zulu6 stabilizing binos. Game changers. Multiple guys have reported that they stopped carrying their Swaro NLs. Sounds...

Not sure actually. I'm married to Banish adapters sadly and they only sell the two options...

    Hornady 7 PRC a Lie?

Yeah it takes quite a bit of mental gymnastics to argue that a wild-catted purpose built rifle is an easier button than factory SAAMI cartridge with ammo on shelves. Apples to apples means factory SAAMI with off the shelf ammo, or custom with handloads - no mixing and matching. I'm sure a...

I should also say that I lost 150fps from factory loads. Will make that up easily with handloads.
