.300 win mag bullet help
Have you tried a 168 grain TTSX? If you look at stability calculators, 168 grain Barnes TTSX is a bit more stable in the 1:10 twist of the Howa. Vortex TTSX, if only.
You might want to try the 140 gr TTSX. Often the lighter bullet weights for the non-lead bullets stabilize a little better, the length seems to match up better with twist rates. Hornady GMX
I shot some goats in Hawaii with the GMX out of a .308 Win. Worked just fine. I've also used the Barnes extensively on a bunch of hogs and some sheep.
