What are you guys paying for gas?

My local costco just jumped to $5.00 this morning add another .40-.50 for any of the local chevron/shells in the area. It's going to be a long summer.

    What's your side hustle?

I've been welding professionally over 12 years, always did side work out of the garage for friends and family. When my wife locked in a good job with good benefits after she went back to school, she nudged me to take the leap to go out on my own. Been in business on my own a little over 2 years now.

Who panics and presses that little orange button the most?

Somewhat related but not, my son had to be airlifted to a children's hospital when he was born. It was 28k base rate plus 22k for mileage, the hospital was 40 miles away.

    PCM replacement

I did a mail-order tune for my 05 years ago. When I installed it the truck wouldn't start, I found out I had to do a certain "re-learn" procedure to get the computer and truck to work with eachother. Not sure if the 2010's are the same way.

    Costco gas

Local stations nearby are $4.40/gal today my local costco was $3.85. If I fuel up first thing in the morning I rarely have to wait for a pump. Between my truck and engine drive welder for my business I spend $500-700= month in fuel. When gas goes to $5-6/gal in the summer that 4% makes a...

    2024 Garden!

Started weeding my beds this weekend. I usually get the spring/early growing stuff in the ground in March. I've been picking and using the carrots I planted in October/ November for the last several weeks.

    A good year

I'm in central CA, I fueled up today at $4.50/gal, consumables for my welding business doubled in the last year and a half. Grocery bill is significantly higher. I'm happy about my returns on my ira this year, but I won't be seeing any of that money for at least another 30 years.

Anybody have a good jerky recipe for the oven?

Salt pepper and garlic is a good simple base. If you like teriyaki, soak it in some soy sauce and a little worcestershire. For a few hours. Set the oven as low as it will go and start checking it after a couple hours. The thickness of cut and how wet you leave the meat if you marinated it makes...
