Mine lasted from late September through early January, in spite of all that I could do. I have rarely been sick, even staying healthy when my wife and kids got sick, so this was a major frustration for me. I join the YMCA in January, and started playing pickleball twice a week. I felt like I was...
Yes, I believe that I had it. I had....coughing fits as the sun set almost every day, a constant feeling that there was fluid in my lungs, wheezing after activities, sleepiness in spite of lots of sleep, slight weakness, an inability to jog very far and a general feeling that I was "under the...
I have found that Dan O's comment is spot on---at least in Western prairie conditions.
After shooting out in field conditions (WY open prairie) many times over, I found that my maximum effective range is about 175 yards because of wind drift. Even at that distance, the wind gusts often cause 5...
I just use generic PH testing kits from a local store. They aren't super detailed, but they do let me know how much the PH levels move after adding soil amendments.
This is so stinking true.
The young adults that know how to look someone in the eye, give a handshake, and hold a short conversation with middle and older aged people are the ones who get all the promotions and opportunities. This holds true everywhere that I have ever worked. Kids who are...
Yep, that's Wyoming. If you feel like giving it another try, consider planting root vegetables. They might survive the wind and hail a little bit better.
That is exactly how I do it. I use a post hole digger.
Just make sure that there are a few inches of dirt between the fish carcass and the seedling roots.
You guys are making me jealous! Here in WY we don't plant until after Memorial Day. As a newcomer to WY a couple years ago, I planted a whole garden in early May, and then watched as my garden got buried under 2 inches of snow a couple weeks later.
The fish fertilizer thing is real, and it...
I have 2 little boys with a 3rd one on the way. I have definitely hunted less than I would have without kids. However, my wife encourages me to get out and hunt which is very supportive of her, and I content myself with being out in the field just 15-20 days each year. My children are more...
Yes Sir, try the BLM office for maps. You can also view this page to get a digital map. https://wgfd.wyo.gov/Hunting/Hunt-Planner/Antelope-Hunting/Antelope-Map
I wouldn't recommend that area to anyone except the most experienced mule deer hunters. However, if you are good at finding mule deer bucks in highly pressured areas (even miles from the roads) than you might be able to find bucks.
Hello Jrahl- We did not do well, overall. 1 out of the 4 of us shot a buck, and we only saw 2 bucks total in about 7 days of hunting. We saw does on a regular basis, but the bucks were hard to find. The "usual" strategy of glassing from vantage points at first light and last light did not work...
Arriving before the season to drive around and locate Antelope is the big key. Find them, and you will know where to hunt on opening morning. Good luck!
Welcome to HuntTalk! I do not typically share my specific hunting spots with other people, but I can tell you of 2 strategies that may help you... 1) Arrive a couple of days before the season starts. Antelope don't hide.. 2) Go deep. There are only a few places in Unit 21 that are "Antelope...
