Congrats on the tag! I haven't been up there this year, but I'd try Kings Canyon and Garson Rd, across from Cabelas. There's construction back in there now, so you'll want to check out the Garson area before hand, to figure out your entry points. Peavine also holds a lot of deer and sometimes...
I spoke to my cardiologist today and he told me that it shouldn't be a problem. Just as long as I don't put the butt directly on the device itself. My left side will eventually heal up, if I needed to shoot left handed. I was in Sportsmans today, and I found that they make a removable shoulder...
Right now my left shoulder is pretty messed up from infections from my current pacemaker. I'm going in for my third surgery since March 1st and that's why we've decided to move it to my right shoulder. I'm not sure how long it's going to take to heal up, in case I have to learn to shoot left handed.
It's been a very long time since I've posted anything on here. I'm 46 and I've had a pacemaker implanted in my upper left chest since 1991. I've never had any issues shooting or hunting through the years. Has anyone had to move their pacemaker to the dominant side of their chest, and still been...
I would always recommend hunting the Garson road area across from Boomtown Casino, but they've broke ground for a new housing development and I'm not sure how this affects access anymore. This area is a wintering ground for hundreds of NV/CA deer every year, but I'm not sure how the construction...
Thank you everyone!
Labman, I was told that you ended up taking a nice bear that same day. Small world! I spent a ton of time up Garson and only seen one really small bear while scouting before the season up there. Tons of sign, but I just couldn't catch a break. I had some of the best Intel...
This year I was one of only fourteen successful NV bear hunters and I ended up finally taking my bear on November 8th after 17 days in the field. I'm proud to say that I successfully took my bear DIY, solo and spot & stalk. Those of you that know me, know that I've had a lot of medical issues...
Make sure to do all of your research before heading towards the rubies. I read a story yesterday stating that they aren't letting anyone into certain areas until after November 30th due to the danger of debris flows and rockslides. That tag is for a huge area and I wouldn't go near the rubies...
Hey Jeremy! The last three years I had to turn in my tags because of back surgery. I had max points for bear (7) and four points for my cow. My wife had five points to draw 195 and my daughter had two junior points for 194/196. We were very lucky this year and I can't wait to fill our empty freezer!
I hunted 072 in 2013 during September and that country is crazy but absolutely beautiful! When the weather turns, it really turns. Over a foot of snow fell towards the end of the month and if we didn't have a good 4x4 we would have been in trouble. Good luck and find one of those Jarbidge monsters!
Woo hoo! I drew a coveted NV bear tag and the ladies of the house drew coveted Reno/Sparks deer tags! My daughter's still a junior, so we'll be hitting Mt. Rose early for muzzleloader!! Way excited!
