Taking off this morning to AZ in search of javelina. Season started yesterday but the winter storm held me back for a day. Full report upon return.

Good luck. I'm hanging out in Arizona staying warm....

Hello all. My crew and I were fortunate enough to tag out the first day we were able to hunt after the passing of the winter storm in southern AZ. Details and pics once I get home.

Nice work!!! I helped my brother try to fill his leftover tag down south and we never found any of the little buggers.

Congrats on the javelina! I am glad I am not the only one who takes off to AZ for javelina. My wife and I were successful with our four tags last weekend. That storm was crazy and the javelina dont like the cold to much either.

Arizona allows you two tags for javelina as long as they are different hunt numbers. Been that way for several years now.

They are three in total? Am I correct?

Moving on, it seems like you had so much fun shooting those targets.
I believe dirtclod.az was referring to .270s post about the 4 tags.

It was a lot of fun, just sad because the hunt ended so quickly. We had three tags to fill and took three javelinas out of the same herd.

You didn't miss anything on Friday. The conditions were bad. Left my buddy heater up north cause I've never needed one on a javelina hunt but it was about 28 degrees. Rained Friday night and left sheet of ice on quad and almost didn't start the next morning. On quad at 0730. On foot at 0830. Javelina down at 1030. Trailer loaded at 1400. Home by 1600. I've never seen conditions like that this far south in AZ in my life.

I like the skull mount. Did you do it yourself?
