I found colorado is 10 years if you dont buy a qualifying license but didn't find anything on Wyoming. Ive got more then enough points for the unit i plan to hunt but things came up and will probably be 2 years till i can hunt it now, i dont really want to buy more points to waste.
How long are preference points good for if you don't apply every year?

You can skip 1 year in WY and keep them, but if you skip 2 years they will go back to 0.

it would be a mistake to not get additional points while in a holding pattern. among other considerations you very well could determine another unit that takes more points is desired. heck you might even want pool your points with someone and draw together...
