Arizona Winter Hunting Fun - Coues, Quail, Javelina

Southern Arizona in January is the essence of pure hunting fun. Not sure what I could be doing that time of the year that would give me more pleasure. If I find a better replacement, I'll be filming it.

In this hunt we are joined by a lot of friends from Arizona Game & Fish, other platforms such as The Hunting Public, Brian Call of the Gritty Bowmen podcast, HUSH YouTube channel, Ryan Lampers of Hunt Harvest Health Podcast, and many other folks who have been regulars on our content.

Look forward to the rest of the story. My one I didn't know. Coues have an enormous white tail. New Mexico has mule deer and isolated whitetail except for the Coues in the boot hill and some in the Gila.

I seen whitetail in Bear Canyon by Mayhill. Have never observed the enormous white flag.

Stupid, I thought the Coues were not that demonstrative.

How many times have you hiked all over the landscape, blown a stalk or two, only to have a close encounter right near where you parked the truck? Doesn't happen much with elk, at least for me, but with deer it seems to be a common occurrence. You think I would start paying attention to that pattern. But, that would imply I am smart enough to pay attention, a fact I disprove on a daily basis.

Hard to see it from the footage, but the buck stood up behind a tree that was only 21 yards away. Like always, the doe busted us and the short time the buck was standing around, he was obscured by brush.

The food is just too good to be a hunting camp.

Has Nissan regretted their decision to let you beat the hell out of one of their trucks all year? How has it held up?

They knew what they were getting when they sent me a truck. This has actually been a pretty easy year on vehicles, excepting the Utah bison retreat and some New Mexico elk detours. Well, add in some "fun" stuff on a Montana elk hunt that did some serious damage to my buddy Beau's Tundra. Yeah, probably about normal.

As for how it has held up, I'm super impressed. Towing with it is a serious upgrade from the old model. The transmission is super smooth and shifts seamlessly while towing uphill. Ride is great. Interior features are beyond what a bumpkin like me needs/deserves. Biggest problem is that nobody makes a bumper for the gas version I am running, so my Warn winch is sitting boxed up on my shop floor as I wait for a custom bumper. That will probably change.

I do with the parking and "smash into someone next to you" sensors were off by default, rather than having to shut them off. The places I drive, the brush and debris is always telling the sensors I am about to crash. It has taken me a while to remember to turn them off as soon as I start the truck. I suspect the lawyers required them to active as the default setting.

The next tires have impressed me greatly, in both mud and snow. I was a bit skeptical that it would be much of an upgrade from my old Cooper AT3s. For how I use them and the conditions I use them in, they perform very well. And they are very quite on the road for tires that perform that well off the highway.

I guess my summary is that if they take this one from me and don't give me a replacement, odds are I will buy one with my own money, just like I did the last four Titans I had.

I am really enjoying this series, in large part due to the opportunistic hunting. Out looking for deer but you see a jack rabbit, go get it. I would love to see more of these types of hunts. Keep up the good work.

You have me strongly considering a Titan when my Dodge finally gives up the ghost, which is hopefully not for another 5-6 years.

I went through multiple fuel pumps on my Dodge,Great truck sucky fuel pumps.
have to drop the 30 gal. tank for replacement.Sold it off.(bad fuel pump)
