I was browsing through the Western Powders handloading guide and was surprised to see some loads for .308. Looked like it was only recommended for heavier end bullets, 165grn and up.

Anybody tried it in .308?

I’ve used it in the 308 and liked it for 165 grain bullets. It seems similar to RE 15 to me. A lot of powders seem to work well for the 308 though. I also like it for 60 gr bullets in the 22-250.

Any powder in specific?

Western Powders include the Accurate and Ranshot lines.
Quite a goodly selection from both.

The Ramshot Big Game worked well for me in 7mm-08, and 308.

Try it, bet you'll like it... Lol

No, seriously, try it. If it were not for the fact that supply around my area is spotty with it i would be using way more of it!
I can get Hunter all day long, not so Big Game.
Hodgdon, Alliant are what is most carried around here.

I'm still looking for Norma MRP.
