Looking for a pair of compact binos for the thick woods. Diamondback Vortex 8x32 or Maven C series 7x28.

Can't speak to those exact models, but did have the chance this fall to do direct comparison at first light between Maven C1 10x42 and Vortex Viper HD 10x42 (several grades above the Diamondback) and they were close with a slight win to the Mavens. I would extrapolate from that that Mavens would blow away diamondbacks.
