I my self would put Leupold 2.5x8 VX3i on that rifle with Leupold Dual dovetail bases and Burris Signarure Rings. Nice Looking Gun Enjoy.

I wanted to maintain the light weight of my 6# 270 (Stevens 200). Got a Leupold 2.5x8. A fine match for my CO elk pursuits, when I don't care to tote my 7mag (9#). If the 270 ever goes, I'll keep and use the optics.
The 7RM wears a 3x9, for hunting I see no utility for higher magnification.
