I have always used a Nalgene bottle system with a water filer system. With todays new materials and the ability to make water bladder systems that don't taste like plastic I switched this past season. My primary reason for switching was my scouting style. I spend 3-5 months a year in the mountains and when scouting I travel light and cover plenty of miles. With bottle systems I typically would have to stop or take my pack off then dig for my bottle. Bladder systems are so much more convenient for this style of scouting (keeps me moving).
My big question is: I Have a "Source" system with quick disconnect. Does anyone make an end for the Katadyn filter that will work with the Source system? Something I can just hook the Katadyn direct. Ive been using a Katadyn for a decade now and am partial. Don't want to change if I don't have to.
