Good day gents! The Canuck big green weenie (Army) has called and I am getting deployed to Africa this January until most likely September. I won't be home to prep as much as I did last year so I am turning to you guys' wisdom! I know how hard it is to get access to private land to hunt antelopes around Gillette but I'll give it a try anyway. I am more than happy to pay a trespass fee (and lots Maple Syrup, obviously, I'm Canadian after all) as I will not be able to do any scouting, calling land owners or much in terms of online research. I've hunted Unit 23 last year so I would prefer somewhere in that Unit but beggars can't be choosers.

I used all my PP last year for Antelope so I am looking around Unit 23 as I can probably draw a special tag or get a leftover later on.

Thanks!

So I don’t have any tips on private access , but I thought it might be worth mentioning that oil and gas operations, especially in the south half of that unit, have picked up a lot this last year. I guess I am not sure how it might affect antelope or access. Antelope don’t really seemed bothered by it much. Public access is tough enough there, but there might be a little more traffic.
