This weekend I finally got to load my pack with some meat and carried it out the woods as its intended use. I loaded two whitetail bucks guessing somewhere between 170-190 pounds 4 quarters, 2 backstraps, 2 tender loins, 2 neck roasts, and random chuck pieces of meat from each deer per pack.

The second deer was organized with two quarters in the load shelf, two quarters and loose meat in the pack. That seemed to work better than the first deer which I had 3 quarters in the load shelf. Maybe I'm over thinking this, but prior to my next hunt I want to have a set system for how to quickly and efficiently get the meat organized in the pack instead of playing around with what works best.

Any suggestions of your system is greatly appreciated.
