Tripod suggestions ???

What is everyone using for tripods for your binoculars and tripods? My last one was a manfrotto mkx290xta3 that I believed cost me a couple hundred bucks but in my opinion it was worthless.it was nearly 8 pounds and fully collapsed it barely fit in my pack. Looking for lightweight and compact under the $250-300 with head kit.

I use the Promaster XC525C and it's a very nice tripod, as are the Sliks. Pair them with a Benro S2 or some other lightish weight panhead and you should be good to go. S&S, goHunt, and CameralandNY are great places to start looking.

I really like my silk sprint pro II with a manfrotto 700rc2 head. Doesn’t break the bank and is fairly light weight

In my opinion, you cant go wrong with sirui. I use a Sirui T-024VA-5 Fluid Head Tripod Kit from gohunt.

Less than 3lbs, collapses down to nothing, and is pretty sturdy for a 65mm Vortex. You do sacrifice a little stability for weight and size convenience, but it is solid as a rock with 15x56 binos.

I have the Promaster T525P (precurser to the XC525C) and it is too heavy for just binos, but great for a 88mm spotter. The Sirui is what I use with a 55mm spotter and binos. It just depends which spotter and how far I'll be from the truck.
