Hunted my arse off I CO Unit 28, man that place has a ton of deadfall! Better hope lightning never strikes near there as that fire would burn BAD! Covered miles and miles of back country and high slopes, only to see a Bull Moose and a few elk (one nice Bull). After three days started to feel a little discouraged, especially after seeing huge bucks on private ranches, but finally my efforts paid off and I took this guy, and just in time as I had tweaked my back slipping on a snow covered aspen.

Bring on third season Elk!

Congrats. Most of the time, the trophy is in the hunt. When you look at those horns down the years, you'll recall a time when you gave a tremendous amount of effort and didn't give up. Great shooting, also. Best of luck with the elk.

Congrats!!! A hard earned buck is better than tag soup any day , took me 19 days last season to fill my tag on a little 2x1 Blacktail on the 2nd to last day of season. I know well the feeling of discouragement only to feel some satisfaction of a hard earned buck.
