Wyoming/Montana late season cow elk?

I'm thinking about driving down from Canada with my young son next year for something like this. It would be his first ever chance for an elk and I gather it can be an affordable high success hunt if the planets align. This would be perfect for him. I've hunted elk up here but really have no clue about the whos/whats/wheres for doing this down that way. Can anybody get me started in the right direction? I am not a wealthy man and the exchange rate on our crappy CDN $ is a ball buster so I'd be looking for somekind of inexpensive semi-guided/tresspass fee thing with private land to hunt and help getting an animal out if we were lucky enough to connect. Motel accommodations and food would be fine. Not worried about the weather, can't be any worse than we are used too up here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I completely understand reluctance to publicly post info on the internet so please PM with confidence if you can help us out in any way.
