So my best friend and I are going to hunt WY for antelope with our Fathers. We have hunted Montana several times for elk and have filled a few public land tags. Now we are going to try our hand at Pronghorn. We have done our research and got doe/buck tags in zone 17.
I have been spending a lot of time in OnX identifying areas to try and get into. My Dad ended up being able to drive through the zone in August to identify if we would spend time in the northern part or the southern. He found some areas to camp and checked out Gillette for getting supplies, etc.
Wondering if anyone has hunted that zone and if they have any insight on if the side roads and access roads to the larger chunks of BLM have gates on them? Its hard to tell when you zoom all the way in whether or not there are gates on the side roads. We leave 10/20 for WY and will spend Sunday/Monday scouting. Then five days to fill 9 tags in our party of five. Any insights on access in that zone would be appreciated.
